The Rhode Island Half Marathon and 5K is set for Sunday, May 19th, 2024. Choose from either the half marathon or 5K, which offer some of the best views in Rhode Island, including scenic views of Narragansett Bay and the iconic Providence skyline along the East Bay Bike Path. Both USATF-certified and city-approved courses conveniently start and finish at Pierce Memorial Stadium in East Providence, RI.
Due to demand, the Rhode Island Half Marathon will be capped at 2,000 participants. Once the field is sold out, a waitlist will be opened in the event more slots become available.

T-shirts for all entrants who register online before race day. Shirts are not guaranteed for entries on race day.
All participants will be chip-timed. The time limit for the half marathon will be four hours and the field will be capped at 2,000 participants. Once the field is sold out, a waitlist will be opened in the event more slots become available.
HALF MARATHON PACE GROUPS
The Pacers from the experienced team at Marathon Sports will be leading six groups in the RI Half Marathon. Full details can be found below.
PACE TIMES
We will have pace groups for the following finishing times: 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, and 3:00.
HOW TO JOIN
Sign up is not required to join a Pace Group. Simply meet your Pace Lead on race morning!
FINDING THE PACERS ON RACE DAY
To meet up with the pacers on race day, head to the start line at least 15 minutes before the start of the race. Your Pacer will be holding up signs with the finishing times printed on them. Five to 10 minutes before the start, your Pace Group Lead will give you their final instructions.
Course Description
HALF MARATHON
The race conveniently starts and finishes at Pierce Memorial Stadium in East Providence, RI. A fast, flat, and USATF-certified course, the Half Marathon follows Veterans Memorial Parkway before looping back to return on the East Bay Bike Path, which offers stunning views of Narragansett Bay and the Providence Skyline. The course features several points where runners find water on both sides, showcasing the impressive beauty of Rhode Island’s more than 400 miles of coastline.

PARKING
Parking is available at the stadium parking lots on Mercer Ave and at parking lots located at 450 Veterans Memorial Pkwy. Street parking is also allowed on Sunday in East Providence. Please do not park where cones are placed on the course.

We are proud to support Good Neighbors.
Good Neighbors Programs include:
- Community Kitchen (free lunch Monday through Friday 11am-1pm) dine-in and to-go meals.
- Bingo Breakfast Fridays at 9:30am.
- Food Pantry (Wednesday 9am-12pm, the last Saturday of every month 10am-12pm and the third Tuesday 5-7pm)Two visits per month for residents of East Providence
- Food4Kids Additional bag of food for kids available to pantry guests with school-aged children. Available through the pantry while school is out in the summer months
Post Race Party
After the race, it’s time to celebrate! 🍻 We’re thrilled to welcome Crook Point Brewing Company to the Rhode Island Half Marathon & 5K as our Beer Garden hosts.
Crook Point Brewing Company will be set up at the finish line ready to welcome runners back to Pierce Memorial Stadium with a handful of their delicious beers that are brewed locally in East Providence. Their Brewhouse & Taproom, located at 65 Massasoit Ave, offers a stunning space perfect for a casual Saturday afternoon gathering with friends or private events in their Riverside Room overlooking the Seekonk River.
In addition to the beer garden, we’ll also have live entertainment and food trucks, including The Burrito Bowl, equipped with delicious post-race eats. The finish line will truly be the start line of this epic post-race party!
